According to USAToday yesterday (USAToday link), there have been 240 members of Congress who have received donations from Abramoff or his associates. They even listed the top ten members of each party to receive donations.
To anyone who wants to use this scandal to play one-upmanship with their party of choice (unless they are Libertarian), I say "sit down and shut up". BOTH the Republicans AND Democrats are crooked. Frankly, both sides of the political spectrum should take a serious look at their respective parties. Your politicians have SOLD YOU OUT!
NOW can we have a serious conversation about term limits?

I hate to say it, but most Americans are as politicized as congress and don't really give a hoot as long as they can keep someone in office long enough to wield enough power to bring home the bacon..The saying that the love of money is the root of all evil can now be shortened to money is the route of all evil..read my yesterdays blog..
Howard, I read your blog. While I agree that most Americans seem to be blase about politics, I also think that is wrong. At the very least, if someone wants to ignore politics, then they shouldn't vote.
Receiving money from a lobbyist is not a crime. So far, the only criminal I see here is Abramoff, for bilking his own law firm. He's also possibly committed a fashion crime for dressing like a Gestapo agent.
Ranger, I agree it's not illegal. But it sure does smell funny.
